New DigiRozhledna.cz portal will help parents to navigate the challenges of digital parenting and to identify potential cases of digital media addiction

Prague, 18 November 2025 – Nowadays, nearly half a million Czech parents are facing burnout and feeling uncertain about how to guide their children in the online world. Parenting in the digital age is like climbing an unknown mountain: challenging and full of detours and obstacles. Created under the guidance of experts from the First Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University and the General University Hospital, the new DigiRozhledna.cz portal will help parents find their way through digital parenting and identify potential addiction to digital media.

European school survey project on alcohol and other drugs (ESPAD): 30 years

Generation ‘in profound transition’: latest ESPAD report calls for action on prevention, mental health and digital risks.

The results of the 2024 European School Survey Project on Alcohol and other Drugs (ESPAD) are released today in an extensive new report analysing adolescent substance use behaviours across Europe. The report — expanding on the key findings published in May 2025 — portrays a generation ‘in profound transition’.

European experts are seeking new approaches to drug policy and research in Prague.

The 36th annual International Conference of the European Society for Social Drug Research (ESSD 2025) will bring together experts from across Europe to discuss these issues. This year's event is hosted by the National Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Addiction (Drug Policy Department of the Government Office of the Czech Republic) and the Institute for Criminology and Social Prevention, and will welcome experts specialising in addiction research, prevention and policy from across Europe.
